Best Quality Food and Atmosphere

TOP QUALITY RESTAURANT-SUPERB FOOD, SERVICE, AND ATMOSPHERE I went to Souza last Saturday night for the first time with a large party of 15 people. It was the night before we attended the Middlebury College Commencement of 2009. What a culinary highlight the evening turned out to be. The service, the food, the lighting, and the atmosphere were excellent (I understand the restaurant was in another location previously and it has been beautifully renovated) . The salad bar was fully stocked with fresh seafood, like shrimp and calamari, instead of the standard lettuce and prepared foods that one expects at other restaurants. At the table, we began with hot black bean soup, and hot rolls. The meats on 3 feet long skewers kept coming. There was perfectly roasted chicken-crispy on the outside, and tender inside, followed by rack of lamb chops-pink and juicy in the middle, large sirloin steak chunks, barbecued shrimp, chicken hearts, fillet mignon, pork loin, grilled vegetables, and many more, I lost count! We had individual dipping sauces, two sets per table, all pungent and flavorful. We had bottles of a fantastic Malbec wine to go with the meal. (The restaurant has a full stocked cellar, with as many as 350 different types of South American wine available). Chef Kelly Dietrich paid us the great honor of spending time with us at the table and was graciously interested in our every comment and reaction to the food and drink. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
